Athina Simon has worked in the Financial Services industry for 18 years, combining business acumen with innovation to deliver value-add software initiatives. In 2009 she set up EkoNomix B.V. as an independent consultancy firm through which she has since provided her services.
Athina has used Agile methodologies since 2003 to build consensus on scope, drive quality in the delivery and attain client satisfaction during her engagements, and now concentrates on helping organizations transform their operating framework in support of their sustainable transition to adopting agility. She is authoring From Waterfall to Agile: Organizational Transformations in Support of your Agile Transition, as well as a number of articles on the subject. Athina is a Certified ScrumMaster, is a regular participant in various Agile communities and events, and combines her hands-on experience with several project- and software management methodologies such as PRINCE2, ITIL, CMMi, and Six Sigma with her technical background, business expertise and passion for agility to deliver all-round organizational designs and solutions to her clients.
Prior to commencing her career, Athina earned her PhD in Applied Mathematics at the University of Leeds in the UK, having earned several distinctions and scholarships in the duration of her academic tenure. Athina is passionate about the preservation and conservation of nature and the environment, and in her free time volunteers her services towards these causes.
